Discover how you can support Aderyn's writing
As a small author, I depend on readers to help me spread the word about my books. If you've picked up one or more of my books and you'd like to support my writing I've listed the top eight ways you can do so below. Pick one, or knock yourself out and do all eight! Thanks so much for helping an author out.
It will come as no surprise to anyone that purchasing an author's books is the most powerful way to support that author. It's how we earn an income to buy the much-needed coffee that keeps us writing. Speaking of coffee, all my books fall within the coffee price range – somewhere between your keep it simple small black, to your bells and whistles la-dee-da mega cup. So they're very affordable. #2 Subscribe to my monthly newsletter
This one will benefit both of us. Through the newsletter, readers will get exclusive news about the next release and be the first to know about freebies and discounts. It benefits me as I can get in direct contact with fans to let them know when my next book is available for purchase. It's a win-win. If you haven't already, you can sign up here.
Currently, I'm exclusive with Amazon, which means my books can only be bought there. Amazon sells products based on its algorithms which influences a lot of factors, like which books are recommended to which readers. One way readers can help me to 'boost' the algorithms in my favour is to post an honest review for any or all of my books. It can be as short or long as you choose. You'll be doing other readers a favour too, as reviews help us all to choose our next read. You can find my books on my Amazon Author page.
Goodreads is a very handy site for keeping track of the books you've read and creating a list of 'new shinies' you want to read. While you're there you might consider leaving an honest review for one of my books. If you've already posted a review on Amazon, it's a simple matter of copying it and pasting on Goodreads. If you're out of time for review writing, Goodreads gives you the option to leave just a rating without the review. You can find my Goodreads Author Profile here.
On my Facebook Page I post information about my promotions regularly. I welcome all the support I can get with page and post likes, comments and shares, and if you have any tips to help me improve my Facebook presence I'd be happy to hear them on messenger. I'm still quite the noob on Facebook ;)
Twitter is my social media site of choice. I like it most because it's a great place to connect with other authors. However, I also love connecting with readers there. So you can help me out on Twitter by liking, commenting or sharing any of my highly original (ha!) posts, or sending me a message. Unlike many others I don't object to DMs :)
#7 Tell your friends
Despite the modern world's obsession with social media and techno gizmos, word of mouth remains one of the most effective forms of marketing for selling books. If you've enjoyed one or more of my books and you have some friends who are also mad about fantasy fiction, mentioning my books to them will go a long way in helping me to spread the word about their existence, and eventually take over the world, mwahahahaha.
Receiving mail from readers never gets old. Feel free to drop me a line to let me know your thoughts or ask a question. I will reply as soon as I can.
